Phototerra Studio–Bringing the best in Wedding Photography to Toronto and Montreal
Photographed at the Shaar ha Shomaim in Montreal this shot was taken during the Mezinka—a traditional dancing celebration honouring the parents who have just married off their last child.
In this Jewish tradition parents are seated on chairs in the middle of the dance floor. The bride and groom stand by their side and crown them with flower crowns.
A line forms and guests congratulate and kiss the parents–wishing them and their families the best. Afterwards a dancing circle forms until everyone has had the chance to wish them “Mazel Tov.”
It’s quite the spectacle to see such a wonderful tradition and I think the photo below totally does the Mezinka justice!
